Annual Data Protection and Information Security Awareness (Online Course)

Overview:
This course is part of the All Staff Statutory Training. To help protect us all and the University, we provide annual Data Protection and Information Security awareness training for all staff at the University (UK). This training will help you understand the UK GDPR, how to keep our data (including personal data) safe, and how you can stay safe online.

In accordance with the University Data Protection Policy, all staff (including Associates and Post Graduate Researchers (PGRs)) at the University are expected and required to undertake statutory annual training on Data Protection and Information Security. This course is not required for PGT's and UG's.


Learning Outcomes:
  • Understand the key principles of the UK GDPR
  • Be able to identify personal data that is in the scope of UK GDPR
  • Understand the key principles of responsible data handling
  • Know how to report a data breach at the University
  • Understand how to spot a phishing email

Statutory training is defined as the training that the University is legally required to provide all employed staff as defined in law (and consequently legislation can be referenced) or where a statutory body has instructed us to provide training on the basis of legislation

Please ensure that you complete this training within the first week of joining the University and consequently complete refresher training on an annual basis.
