The course looks at: 

 

  • Who should carry out an investigation.

  • The reason for carrying out investigations and the implications of the Reporting of Incidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurances Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR).

  • The Do's and Don'ts when carrying out an investigation.

  • A syndicate exercise to determine the Immediate Causes and the Underlying Causes of an accident.

 

Who should attend : Anybody who will in the course of their duty be required to carry out an accident investigation e.g. managers, supervisors. This course is only for employees of the University, it is not applicable to students or non-University staff.


Please note: If you book a place on this course and fail to attend or fail to give two working days notice of cancellation, there will be a charge of £25.00.

If you are intending to travel by car to the training venue, please allow sufficient time to locate a parking space and to walk to the training venue, as parking may not be available immediately adjacent.

 

This course is normally run twice per year and is open to staff from any School or Professional Service. If dates for forthcoming courses are not displayed below, we will be waiting for room allocations from Central Timetabling and the dates will posted as soon as we receive confirmation of the location (typically late August).
