Course Description
The course will provide an introduction to the key elements of how the University coordinated Major and Strategic Research bids, including:
- The context of major and strategic research:
A brief summary of initial impressions of the UK research strategy following the
Comprehensive Spending Review
The University's strategic research position at the end of 2014-15
- An overview of the University Strategic Development Framework
- Details of the practical operation of the Framework, including
The definition of a major and/or strategic project
Expression of interest submission
Full proposal submission
Letters of support and institutional commitments
Roles and responsibilities
An interactive walk through the process using a worked example
- The course will include time for a Q&A session at the end.
