Target Audience: Late stage postgraduate research students

This online course provides a guide to the journal acceptance process, featuring insights from seasoned journal editors and accomplished authors across approximately twelve different subject areas. The primary aim of this course is to empower you with practical knowledge and strategies, increasing your chances of successfully navigating the intricate journal submission and publication process. Upon completion, you will be better equipped to prepare, submit, and refine your research papers, ultimately enhancing your prospects for successful publication.

Through a series of concise video clips ranging from 1 to 4 minutes each, this course covers key aspects, including:

  1. Publication Process Stages and Editor Responsibilities: Learn about the various stages involved in getting your research published and gain a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of journal editors.
  2. Journal Selection and Early Stage Strategies: Discover effective techniques for selecting the most suitable journal for your research and enhancing your chances of acceptance during the initial submission stages.
  3. Peer Review Understanding and Constructive Response: Grasp the role of peer reviewers in the publication process and acquire the skills to respond constructively to peer review comments.

By completing this course, you will be equipped to:

This is a standalone(self-study) online course.

This course is delivered entirely online via Moodle and is self-study. You may access the course as often as you like until the end of the academic year.
