Sleep is vitally important for our health and quality of life. However, recent statistics reveal that as many as 1 in 3 of us experience insomnia. There is increasing evidence that sleep can impact on cancer risk, obesity, heart health and overall mortality risk. This course will explore some evidence-based factors that influence sleep and changes we can make to improve it. Reported benefits of good quality sleep are that we can become cleverer, more attractive, slimmer, happier and healthier! 

Session 1 : Fight or flight- noticing the impact of physiology and lifestyle factors on sleep 
Session 2: Letting go- can mindfulness really help insomnia? 
Session 3: Awareness of the body- explore methods for releasing tension in the body and discover research-based tips to improve sleep quality. 

This session will be led by Dr Karen Neil, an experienced mindfulness teacher trained and engaged in regular mindfulness supervision & CPD in accordance with the UK Network for Mindfulness-based Teacher Training Organisations https://www.ukmindfulnessnetwork.co.uk/.
