How to use the UoN HPC is for researchers who want to use the UoN HPC system and have at least a basic knowledge of Linux, for instance from the "How to use Linux on the UoN HPC' course.

 

 

Attendees who are unfamiliar with the Linux operating system are recommended to attend the "How to use Linux on the UoN HPC" course before attending this course.

Learning Outcomes:

• Understand how to use SSH to login to a HPC login mode.

• Understand the login environment and how to configure environment variables.
• Understand how to find out about the available compute resources.
• Understand the computer resources available to be requested by a batch job.
• Understand how to write a job submission script.
• Understand how to submit a job to the batch queuing system.
• Understand how to monitor a job.
• Understand where to find reliable sources of further information.
