Course Description

This workshop will explore the role, responsibility and expectations of a personal tutor and how effective personal tutoring can enhance the student experience and success at university and enable development and preparation for future careers.  It should give you the opportunity to explore this important role and supply you with resources and materials to enhance your practice.

  • Explore the role, responsibility and expectations of personal tutors;
  • Identify main issues around personal tutoring;
  • Reflect on good practice and the skills required of an effective personal tutor;
  • Explore the personal and professional skills opportunities available at Nottingham;
  • Understand the specialist support services for our students;
  • Deal with issues and difficulties more effectively.
