Central Short Courses

Depending upon the situation, people learn in different ways.

If someone is approaching a new task, instruction and practice may be the best methods.  If someone has a certain level of knowledge, skills and competence, the best way to develop this further may be by coaching.  For long-term career development, someone may benefit from having a mentor.

Professional Development now offer three courses to cover these different situations.

Training Skills for Managers

As a manager you are likely to operate in a number of ways to develop your staff.  On some occasions (for example when someone is new to a role) you will use one-to-one training.  At other times you will be coaching – helping someone to further develop their skills in a particular task.  At other times, you may be operating more as a mentor, using your knowledge and experience to help a team member to develop further, perhaps for their next role or future career aspirations.  This course is designed to give you a refresher of all those aspects, with fresh tips and hints.

Target Audience

Line managers of all levels.
