Impact workshop for SB researchers
Description

Impact is a major component of research council funding applications, and consequently, understanding the concept is essential for anyone who is considering a research career within the UK. This workshop will introduce the RCUK’s requirements for demonstrating the economic and societal impact of research. Participants will write an impact summary for their own research project, and consider how to support a funding application with a ‘Pathways to Impact’ document.

Learning Outcomes

Researchers attending this workshop will be able to:

•understand the RCUK expectations on economic and societal impact 

•write an impact summary for their own research

•identify activities that can be used to demonstrate pathways to impact


Please note that this course is only open to postgraduate research students and research-only staff in the Schools of Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine & Science. Researchers from other schools will not be admitted to the session.
