Who should attend?

This workshop is for staff at the University of Nottingham. Please note there are no places on this particular session available for postgraduate research students, postgraduate taught students or undergraduate students.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

Understand the background to, and evidence for, mindfulness as a tool for reducing stress, increasing resilience and improving health and well-being.

Experience some mindfulness practices for themselves, including simple practices to take away and use at home and work.

Be directed to further learning options for the incorporation of mindfulness into daily life.


Process

The session will comprise:

·        a presentation introducing mindfulness, how it originated as a tool for stress reduction and highlighting some of the scientific evidence for the many benefits of mindfulness

·        questions and answers

·        Direct experience of basic mindfulness practices and group discussion.

This course is designed for staff who are curious to learn more about mindfulness, both intellectually and experientially.

This course is led by a mindfulness teacher trained and engaged in regular mindfulness supervision & CPD in accordance with the UK Network for Mindfulness-based Teacher Training Organisations https://www.ukmindfulnessnetwork.co.uk/.
