Better Decision Making: Avoiding the thinking traps
Duration 2 hours
Team Professional Development

Who should attend

This course is available for everyone who wishes to improve their decision-making powers!

Course Description

We make decisions all of the time. Most are simple decisions with limited consequences, but some are much more important. And in theses cases we want to make ‘the right decision’. But sometimes we come unstuck. Not because circumstances changed and a good decision turned bad, but because we didn’t make the right decision in the first place. We were blindsides and fell for one of the thinking traps. This course is designed to throw some light on these potential traps and to enable you to navigate around them.

Topics covered include:

  • A decision-making framework
  • Daniel Kahneman’s System 1 and System 2
  • Slowing down so we don’t jump to conclusions
  • Examining the data – carefully!
  • Awareness of our biases
  • Confusing good outcomes with good decisions

This course is also offered as a slightly shorter on-line version.
