Course Overview.This introductory session provides a practical, hands-on introduction to EchoPoll, the university’s centrally supported Audience Response Tool. With a focus on the web environment, the session is designed to help educators create interactive, engaging learning experiences in live teaching settings. Participants will explore the full EchoPoll ecosystem—including the web interface, PowerPoint add-in, and floating toolbar—while gaining insight into both the student and instructor perspectives. Through live demonstrations and guided setup, attendees will learn how to run polls, meet compliance requirements, and access session data for analysis. Whether you're new to EchoPoll or looking to explore its web-based capabilities, this session will equip you with the foundational skills to get started confidently. Workshop (optional).This workshop builds on the core training for the EchoPoll web environment and allows the opportunity to practice using EchoPoll with colleagues, with the opportunity to also discuss your teaching practice if you wish to. The workshop will introduce gamification in EchoPoll using the ‘teams’ (groups) option, scores, the leaderboard and ranking slides in EchoPoll. The workshop will also look at how to use symbolic notation in a polling session. The compliance considerations for these polling activities will be covered.
