Overview of the course
This course strengthens your understanding of assessment and feedback strategies in higher education. You will learn to critically evaluate and adapt assessment methods for diverse learning contexts, meeting a range of student needs. The course also covers feedback techniques that foster reflective learning and encourage student improvement. Additionally, you will address common challenges in assessment and feedback, exploring practical solutions to enhance both effectiveness and efficiency in your teaching.
 
This course will also support you in your reflection, development and critical examination of your practice which can support your reflective account for fellowship submission through the Nottingham Recognition Scheme (NRS).  
 
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
  • Critically evaluate assessment strategies and adapt them to diverse learning contexts.
  • Develop feedback techniques to support reflective learning and encourage actionable improvement.
  • Address common challenges in assessment and feedback through practical solutions that enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Who should attend?
PGTA’s already in post, technicians, demonstrators, library staff, early academics, returners to teaching, international academics and anyone who delivers or supports teaching and wants to develop their practice.  
 
Attendance
Participants are required to attend a minimum of 90% of any synchronous online training course to be marked as "Attended." Attendance is tracked through the attendance record generated by Microsoft Teams, which monitors login times and the duration of attendance in the session.
