Aims and Objectives
Participants will :
Gain familiarity with the main requirements of the DSE Regulations and the University policy for implementing the regulations
Gain an understanding of the health effects which can arise from DSE work
Be able to carry out assessments of workstations using standard forms to produce a clear record
Understand the ergonomic aspects of DSE workstations that can help to minimise adverse health effects
Draw conclusions from the assessment and make recommendations for action
Identify their limitations and be able to draw on further expertise if needed
Who should attend :those having responsibility for DSE Assessments - new assessors or those requiring validation of self-teaching. This course is only for employees of the University, it is not applicable to students or non-University staff.
Please note: If you book a place on this course and fail to attend or fail to give two working days notice of cancellation there will be a charge to cover costs. The charge is dependent on the cost of the course to the University.
If you are intending to travel by car to the training venue, please allow sufficient time to locate a parking space and to walk to the training venue, as parking may not be available immediately adjacent.
This course is normally run twice per year and is open to staff from any School or Professional Service. If dates for forthcoming courses are not displayed below, we will be waiting for room allocations from Central Timetabling and the dates will posted as soon as we receive confirmation of the location (typically late August).
