This course includes:
  • Main requirements of the DSE Regulations and the University policy for implementing the regulations

  • Health effects which can arise from DSE work

  • Assessments of workstations using standard forms to produce a clear record

  • Ergonomic aspects of DSE workstations that can help to minimise adverse health effects

  • How to draw conclusions from the assessment and make recommendations for action

  • How to identify your limitations and draw on further expertise if needed


Who should attend:

Those having responsibility for DSE Assessments - new assessors or those requiring validation of self-teaching.

This course is only for employees of the University, it is not applicable to students or non-University staff.

Attendance Notice

We are working with external trainers to expand our offering, so please prioritise your booking to help us utilise these resources effectively.

Cancellations: If you cannot attend, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.  

Reporting: Please note that non-attendance is reported to Line Managers, Heads of Business Units, and FPVCs.  

Absences: If you have a legitimate reason for missing a session (e.g. illness), please let us know so we can update our records and ensure you aren't unfairly penalised.
