Engage - Universal Capture using Echo360
Duration 1 Hour
Team Professional Development

Lectures and recordings from wherever you are...

Did you know that as well as being able to record your lectures when you're at the University that you can also make recordings from anywhere?  With the Universal Capture software installed on your device, you can record your lecture and then upload it to Engage (Echo360) so that your students can watch it whenever they want.

You have the option of recording audio, via your webcam (to include you) as well as what you've got on your screen e.g. PowerPoint presentation.  Alternatively, you can just choose to record one or more of those options - it's up to you!

These captures can be made available to students and can be accessed via Moodle or directly through the Echo360 website and Echo360 app.

Learning Outcomes:
At the completion of this course you should be able to:
  • Understand the requirements and download the recording software
  • Work with the recording interface to select input and output sources
  • Edit the title and details of the capture (recording)
  • Make a capture
  • View/playback the capture
  • Publish the capture

This session will be delivered entirely online via Microsoft Teams.  If you don't already have the Microsoft Teams client then please download it from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/download-app

Instructions on how to use the new interface can also be downloaded in pdf format.
