This course will cover how to take the lead in your own development by actively asking for feedback, rather than waiting for it. By building this habit, you not only accelerate your personal growth but also help foster a culture where feedback becomes a shared and valued norm. You’ll explore practical tools to seek feedback with purpose, process it constructively, and turn it into meaningful action. This is a key self-leadership skill that empowers you to grow with intention and inspire others to do the same.
This workshop relates to the “Communication”, “Adaptability” and “Self-leadership” competencies outlined in the Competency Framework.
Please note that a similar workshop was delivered in 2024/25 under the title “From fearful to fired up: asking for, receiving and using feedback for growth”.
Learning outcomes:
Please be aware that this workshop is an interactive session with chat discussions and a break-out room exercise. You do not have to share anything you are not comfortable with but bear in mind you will be asked to reflect on your own experiences.
After attending this course, the recommended progression would be to attend the “Providing effective feedback” course.
Pre-work: before the session, you must watch this video from Sheila Heen, lecturer at Harvard Law School and founder of Triad Consulting Group.
