We know what we do, and we know how we do it, but we don't always know why.
This is an opportunity to explore what drives you and how that connects to your sense of motivation and purpose. From there you can seek out opportunities to boost your motivation, performance and sense of satisfaction in the work that you do.
This workshop relates to the following competencies outlined in the Competency Framework: “Self-Leadership” and “Communication”.
Learning outcomes:
Articulate the impact of 'starting with why' when looking at how you work and connect with a sense of purpose.
Analyse your underlying values and motivations to find opportunities to identify a sense of purpose in the work that you do.
Write your 'why' to explain what motivates you and gives you purpose in your work.
Please be aware that this workshop is a discussion-based session with pair and group exercises. You do not have to share anything you are not comfortable with but bear in mind you will be asked to reflect on your own experiences.
Pre-work: In preparation for this workshop, please watch the following video from Simon Sinek. He describes a model for communication, the Golden Circle, that gives us opportunities to consider how we can connect with a sense of purpose in what we’re doing.
