Doing research remotely with external partners (Webinar)
This online course is delivered by the Researcher Academy
The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you. Semester 1 courses will be available for booking from the second week of October and Semester 2 courses from the second week of February.

This webinar will introduce you to the key considerations that are necessary when you need to work with external research partners who are located at a distance. During the webinar you will be introduced to other researchers who are already working remotely with one or more research partners. The facilitator and contributors will focus the discussion on those topics of interest to the audience in attendance on each occasion, but a selection of the following issues are likely to be covered:
Building and maintaining trust between partners.
Establishing management and reporting responsibilities.
Navigating partner’s organisational cultures
Professional Conduct (including contractual obligations)
Agreeing processes for changes to research design and execution.
Intellectual property issues (including ownership of outputs produced)
Management of research data
The webinar will help you to anticipate some of the issues that may be arise within your own research project, and think about the options that may be available to you.
