The first step towards responsible research practice is knowing what the University expects in relation to integrity and this online course seeks to ensure that you as researchers at Nottingham regardless of your career stage, understand your professional responsibilities.
This module is suitable for all academic and research staff and postgraduate research students and provides the practical advice that you will need when dealing with complex issues in research, conducting it and reporting and writing it up. If you haven't had this kind of training before, then we strongly encourage you to complete the course as early as you can, if you've already had research integrity training at some point in your research career then the course can still be really useful to you, reminding you of issues relevant, perhaps your discipline, as well as legal and professional frameworks as they constantly evolve and change.
The majority of research projects at Nottingham are complex and while recognising that mistakes and honest errors can be made by anyone, this module is about strengthening your awareness of your own responsibilities and accountabilities when conducting research, and gives very useful guidance on what to do should things go wrong.
