This standalone online course is run by the Researcher Academy

The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you. 

Target audience:
Early stage postgraduate research students and early career researchers

This course is for you if you have had little or no previous experience of qualitative methods and want to understand the range and uses of this distinctive approach.

Aim: This course will provide an introductory insight into qualitative research and provide researchers with information and resources to aid understanding. 

Learning outcomes:

  • To outline the similarities and differences between qualitative and quantitative strategies.
  • To illustrate the key features of qualitative research.
  • To highlight what ontology, epistemology and methodology mean. 
  • To  identify some key elements common in qualitative research. 
  • To provide information on qualitative research methods and data analysis.

To access the course please follow the link below and log into Moodle using your normal username and password. You must use the link below when accessing this course for the first time as it allows you to self-enrol onto the course.
