Target Audience: Researchers interested in learning about the types of data and training available from the UK Data Service. 

Description:

The UK Data Service provides access to the UK’s largest collection of social and economic data. This in-person training event offers an interactive introduction to the data, resources and support available.

The session will involve presentations and hands-on sessions using UK Data Service data and online data visualisation tools with opportunities to ask questions.

By the end of the workshop attendees will know:

  • how to explore the vast range of quantitative and qualitative datasets available for reuse from the UK Data Service
  • how to use online tools to browse and analyse UK Data Service data collections
  • how to select appropriate data and understand data access conditions
  • how to find the wide variety of data support materials available such as video tutorials and methodological guides
  • how to keep up to date with news and events

This is an online session within Microsoft Teams. On the day of the session please use the link in this email to join the meeting. Please do not click the link in this email until the day of the session.  

You will need a headset or speakers for the webinar and we recommend that you join 10 minutes before the webinar is due to start so that you can test them.

Please mute your microphone, switch off your webcam and open the chat box function as you join the Teams meeting. Any questions can be asked via the chat box. 

To take part in the exercises, join using a laptop or desktop computer as it is difficult to explore the data on a mobile device.
