Overview: An introductory training session for workers with ionising radiation, this eLearning course covers the basics of radiation protection and the University Policy & Guidance for working safely with open, closed, and X-ray sources of Ionising Radiation. This course is required for everyone working, supervising, or in management control of work with Ionising Radiation.
Learning Outcomes:
Understand different types of Ionising Radiation, and where it is used at the University
Introduction to the biological impacts of ionising radiation
Radiation dose and activity
Safety control measures and reducing risk to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP)
Understand emergency procedures
Be able to practically monitor radiation levels in the workplace
Who should attend: Staff, Associates, and Postgraduate Researchers (PGR’s).
