Course aims

This online webinar (delivered via Microsoft Teams) will provide an introduction to the research analytics tool SciVal.

Target audience

All research and research-enabling staff

Description

The session will cover the data which can be viewed and analysed via SciVal, including research volume, citation metrics and policy mentions. Participants will learn how to access SciVal,  navigate the SciVal modules and understand their own publication data that is available via the tool.

Learning outcomes

  • Know how to access and navigate SciVal
  • Learn about the data that can be accessed via SciVal, including citations and citation metrics
  • View and understand your SciVal researcher profile
  • Understand the limitations of SciVal metrics and how to use metrics responsibly

  • Access MS Teams
  • Attend the course at the specified date and time
  • Use MS Teams chat box function
  • Watch and listen to the course tutor(s) and/or other attendees
  • Follow presentation slides during the course
