Learning Outcomes 

This 1.5 hour session will take you through a process of crafting, practicing and perfecting a forty second ‘elevator pitch’ for policy audiences, equipping you with a vital tool in getting the attention of decision makers and influencers when a fleeting opportunity presents itself. 

 
Participants will: 

• Learn the principles of a good elevator pitch, when they are useful, and why preparing one is a powerful tool for academics engaged in policy impact 
• Using an example, go through a simple process for developing an elevator pitch 
• Have the opportunity to apply this to their own work, develop their own pitch, and work with other participants to improve it 
• Gain the tools needed to perfect their pitches themselves
