The ‘Mental Health Matters’ training programme has been designed to align with different job responsibilities and will equip you with practical skills and knowledge to support your own mental wellbeing, as well as that of colleagues and students.
The aim of this training is to support understanding, reduce stigma and encourage conversation about our mental health, through increased knowledge and confidence.
While participation is not mandatory, we strongly encourage all colleagues to take part. By engaging with this training, you’ll be better prepared to recognise signs of mental health challenges, respond and signpost appropriately, and create a supportive environment across our university community.
The programme is made up of four courses:
Mental Health Matters e-learning (a Moodle account is required to participate. You can request a Moodle account through DTS self service)
Line manager e-learning (coming soon)
Mental Health First Aid England half day awareness course, for those in pastoral roles
Mental Health First Aid England two-day first aider qualification, for those in specialist roles such as security
