PLEASE NOTE: YOU NEED TO HAVE UNDERTAKEN THE H&S RISK ASSESSMENT COURSE BEFORE ATTENDING THIS COURSE

The course will cover:

• Legal requirements including the Manual Handling Operations Regulations (1992).

• The 5 Steps of Risk Assessment applied to manual handling.

• How to use the University’s Manual Handling Risk Assessment Template.

• Understanding Filter Assessments and when a full risk assessment is required.

• Identifying risk triggers related to the Task, Individual, Load, and Environment.

Who should attend: Staff who have the responsibility of coordinating or carrying out Manual Handling Risk Assessments for their area.

Attendance Notice

We are working with external trainers to expand our offering, so please prioritise your booking to help us utilise these resources effectively.

Cancellations: If you cannot attend, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer your place to someone on the waiting list.  

Reporting: Please note that non-attendance is reported to Line Managers, Heads of Business Units, and FPVCs.  

Absences: If you have a legitimate reason for missing a session (e.g. illness), please let us know so we can update our records and ensure you aren't unfairly penalised.
