Target audience: academic teaching staff (teaching staff who are inspiring and leading others).
Description
This workshop will offer teaching colleagues an opportunity to identify the key elements associated with the academic promotion policy and procedure. The challenging question of what constitutes an effective evidence-base for demonstrating a positive impact in teaching across the necessary promotions criteria (and more broadly) will be explored. There will also be an opportunity to hear from successful colleagues and to critique a small number of successful applications (from both teaching & learning, and teaching & research job families). The latter part of the workshop will consider the overall journey towards a successful application and focus on timescales and key action points for individuals.
Aims
To support teaching colleagues in preparing for academic promotion and for developing an evidence-base for demonstrating impact in teaching activities.
Pre-course required: TBC (participants will be emailed the week before)
