Whether you are considering progression, broadening your experience or developing within your current role, this session will help you take a more proactive and purposeful approach to your career.
Learning Outcomes:
Who should attend?
This session is open to all members of staff, from any job family and at any career stage.
The workshop focuses on broad principles that can support career development across a wide range of roles; it is not intended to provide role-specific career advice.
If you are an early career researcher, or on a fixed-term research contract, then the Careers and Employability Service offer a bespoke programme of events to support your career development. To book an individual appointment to discuss your needs or explore events please visit: https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/careers/research/advice-and-events.aspx
What to expect:
This is an in-person, discussion-based workshop involving individual reflection, paired conversations and small-group activities.
You will never be expected to share anything you are not comfortable discussing. However, to get the most value from the session, you should be prepared to reflect on your own experiences, aspirations and development.
Pre-work:
Before the session, please complete a short ‘career anchors’ quiz, which we will reflect on in the session: https://psycho-tests.com/test/sheins-career-anchors
Competency Framework:
This workshop supports the Self-Leadership competency within the University of Nottingham Competency Framework, encouraging colleagues to take ownership of their development, reflect on their strengths and aspirations, and actively manage their career progression.
