The course is open to all managers and staff who want to gain more influence and become more persuasive. It is a two-part course, so you need to be available for both sessions.
Course Description There are no guarantees when it comes to influencing and persuading people, but the more options you have, and the more skilfully you can employ these, the greater your chances of success. This is what we will examine in this course. The gap between the two sessions will give you the opportunity to put into practice some of the knowledge and skills we discuss in the first session.
Topics covered include:
Learning from those who influence us
Influencing by general behaviour (Dale Carnegie)
The suggestions of Robert Cialdini with respect to Influence (Persuasion and Pre-Suasion)
Influencing Without Authority - The Cohen-Bradford model
Understanding people’s differences
This course is also offered as a slightly shorter on-line version, run over two sessions of 2 hours duration.
