This face to face course is run by the Researcher Academy as part of the Qualitative Methods in Practice Seminar Series
The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you.
Target Audience: PGRs and ECRs who are interested in learning more about the application of qualitative research methods.
Speakers: Dr Martin Heneghan & Dr James Heydon
Abstract:
This session will centre on the data collection technique of elite interviewing and, in doing so, explore a variety of challenges and opportunities involved with the method. Drawing on their own experiences researching political and economic ‘elites’, Martin and James will explain what is distinctive about this technique, the difficulties associated with its use, and how some of those challenges can be overcome in the field and beyond.
Please note: Due to the content included in this session it will not be recorded and made available post-session.
