This course consists of a 1.5-hour in person seminar plus networking. The seminar will showcase examples of previous University of Nottingham developed ideas, discussing their stories and how they were made into a commercial product. UoN commercialisation stories will be used to illustrate practical concepts within commercialisation and the various ways that research ideas can move from the research-based environment into the commercial setting.
This course is designed for postgraduate research students and any staff with an interest in commercialisation. The principal aim is to help researchers understand the process of taking a research-based idea to commercial exploitation and raise their awareness of the support mechanisms in place within the university to help them explore possible commercialisation opportunities alighting from their own research activity.
After this course you will:
understand how research ideas can be commercialised
have seen examples of previous research ideas that have been made into products or services
Process: Practical interactive workshop led by a university employee based in the Commercialisation Office
