Target Audience: This programme is ideal for researchers including PGRs, research enablers, and anyone involved in facilitating research who seek to excel in a diverse and globalised research landscape.

Please note: Should you wish to be awarded a certificate for this programme, you will need to have completed the core session- Intercultural Competence: Empowering Researchers and Research Enablers for Global Impact, AND two of the other three sessions.

Session Aim: Serving as a foundation for the Global Research Navigator: Shaping Global Minds Programme, this session – Intercultural Competence: Empowering Researcher and Research Enablers for Global Impact, aims to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to effectively engage and collaborate in a diverse, multicultural research environment.

Session Outcomes: At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to

  • Understand what intercultural competence is and why it is important
  • Appreciate different definitions of culture and examine models of culture
  • To examine intercultural communication skills
  • To explore the journey of developing intercultural competence
  • To critically reflect on what it takes to be interculturally competent
