This standalone online course is run by the Researcher Academy as part of the Faculty of Engineering Training Programme


Target Audience:
This course is part of the Researcher Academy Faculty of Engineering PGR Training Programme and intended for Engineering postgraduate research students preparing their end of year progress reviews.​​​​

Description: This course will provide information on how to prepare for the end of the first year progression viva and will highlight important things to consider in your preparation.  

Process: 

The course provides access to a pre-recorded presentation available all year round and a yearly scheduled live Q&A webinar in Microsoft Teams once date released. The pre-recorded video is pre-requisite viewing for any students wishing to sign up to attend the live Q&A.

The aim of the Q&A is allow students to ask faculty staff their own questions and seek insight.

Attending the live Q&A is not mandatory but students must sign up to attend (if they wish to do so) and ideally post their questions in advance using the relevant sign up links provided in Moodle.

The live Q&A session is only run in the second semester each year - usually in April/May.
