This face-to-face course is run by the Researcher Academy
The Researcher Academy courses are very popular, and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you.
Target audience: UoN researchers and research staff from the Faculty of Arts
Description
How can you make the most of an archive visit, when you have limited time and lots of material that’s only available in physical format? The Faculty of Arts Digital Transformations Hub will take you through the basics of document digitisation, including how to get fast, good-quality images of documents while you’re “in the field” and using minimal equipment (your phone, or kit you can borrow from the DTH). This course will also show you some tips and tricks for processing your images after your archive visit, including how to turn them into full-text-searchable files through easy OCR (optical character recognition) software.
