Course Description:

Professor Marcus Munafò,  Professor of Biological Psychology and MRC Investigator, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor - Research Culture University of Bristol, and chair of the UKRN Supervisory Board

Professor Munafò has a long-standing interest in meta-research, and the factors and incentive structures that shape researcher behaviour and research quality.

He will introduce the UK Reproducibility Network, including its origins, approach, and future plans. The session will touch on how the network works, and what we can all do locally to improve research culture and quality.

We will also explore how the UKRN experience and model can inform the establishment of like-minded networks to drive positive change. See https://www.ukrn.org/about/ for more details.

Professor Munafo will then introduce Josefina Weinerova, who is currently doing a PhD at the School of Psychology and has recently become the Local Network Lead for the UKRN.  Josefina has set up the ReproducibiliTea Nottingham JournalClub and will provide a brief on the work done so far, steps forward, and how to join.
