The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you.
Target Audience: University staff involved in research supervision (either formally or informally)
Course Description:
This session will help to empower supervisors when supporting students from diverse backgrounds. The aim is to build confidence in having conversations about identity and the impact on a PGR’s research. The session will signpost to EDI resources such as the ‘Supervising PGRs from Diverse Backgrounds’ guide and highlight the specialist support and guidance available. This session has a ‘spotlight on Disability Support’ with input from Disability Support Services regarding support plans, how they can help your PGR and discussions around developing inclusive practice to support your supervisee. The session will include some case studies to explore practical ways you can help.
