Using posters to communicate your research (standalone)More Details
Team Researcher Academy
This online course is run by the Researcher Academy
The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you. Semester 1 courses will be available for booking from the second week of October and Semester 2 courses from the second week of February.
Target Audience: Early stage postgraduate research students and research staff who have little or no experience of presenting an academic poster or those who want a reminder of the ‘basics’.
This course is a standalone course, meaning that you can access it at any time. It is run solely in Moodle. In order to be marked as “attended”, gain the 1.0 training point for the course and to be recognised on your training record, you must complete the final quiz at the end of the course (and score the pass mark).
The main aim of this online course is to help you to prepare and deliver an academic poster.
By the end of the course you will have considered:
the needs of your audience
possible formats and structures for posters
how to present data effectively on posters
the practicalities of producing and displaying your poster
the effective use of colour, size, fonts etc
your performance at a conference poster session
The course should take you about 3 hours to go through all the materials.
Process: Moodle standalone course with a quiz assessment at the end.
