Welcome to the Researcher Academy - existing researchers (Faculty of Social Sciences)
Duration 1 hour
Team Researcher Academy

This online course is run by the Researcher Academy

The Researcher Academy courses are very popular and the majority are run in both semesters to give you the opportunity to attend at a time of the year that suits you. Semester 1 courses will be available for booking from the second week of October and Semester 2 courses from the second week of February.

Target audience: mid to late stage PGRs from the Faculty of Social Sciences

Session description: As we progress through this academic year, we would like to give PGRs from the Faculty of Social Sciences an opportunity to come together for this short online session hosted by the Researcher Academy. The main purpose of the session is to welcome you to the Researcher Academy, to introduce whose involved and what it’s all about.

As you move through your PhD, you’ll need to draw on different resources and types of support. In this session, we’ll tell you about the new and existing opportunities in the Researcher Academy, focusing on things you might be interested in as your work progresses. We’ll revisit the development needs analysis process and highlight opportunities most relevant beyond the early stages of the PhD. We will also highlight training and development opportunities that may be particularly helpful in enabling you to connect with other researchers and work in the “virtual” environment.

We also want to hear from you. There will be chance to ask questions and make any comments that you may have in relation to the Researcher Academy and your training and development needs.
