L&T - Removing barriers to learning for disabled students: how to make teaching practice more inclusive
Team Central Short Courses
This workshop is for any member of staff who wishes to know more about students described as 'neurodiverse', or to know about the University's approach/good practice in supporting students with a disability.
This workshop aims to orient staff to the current climate around ideas of inclusion, the social model of disability and legislation in the context of the University of Nottingham. With a focus on the practical, we will look at how individual tutors and Schools can make steps towards inclusive teaching environments. There will be particular reference to the experiences of students described as 'neurodiverse'.
"Disabled students should arrive at University confident that any barriers to their learning have been identified, understood and appropriate steps taken to reduce their impact" (DSA Guidance).
