This course will cover how to identify and harness your unique strengths to lead and develop yourself more effectively. Understanding what energises you is key to building confidence, resilience, and purpose in your work. As human beings, we are not static, our strengths evolve, and learning to use them wisely helps us adapt and flourish. By exploring your realised and unrealised strengths, you’ll begin a journey of self-leadership that inspires growth in both yourself and those around you.
This workshop relates to the “Communication”, “Self-leadership” and “Adaptability” competencies outlined in the Competency Framework.
Please note that a similar workshop was delivered in 2024/25 under the title “Explore and showcase your strengths in the recruitment process”. This workshop won’t be using the recruitment lens as that one did, however what you learn will also help you make informed career decisions!
Learning outcomes:
Please be aware that this workshop is an interactive session with group and pair exercises. You do not have to share anything you are not comfortable with but bear in mind you will be asked to reflect on your own experiences.
After attending this course, if you are looking at progressing in your career, you may want to attend the “Career planning: realising your potential” session. You may also be interested in the “Leadership without the ‘leader’ badge” session.
Pre-work: before the session, you must complete a Strengths Profile questionnaire which will be sent to you in advance of the session. After completing it, you will receive a report that you will need to bring at the session as you will need to use it as part of the session activities.
