Supporting Others Well: Communication, Boundaries & Balance
Duration 0.5 days
Team Professional Development
Many of us want to be supportive and help colleagues, friends, and family members when they’re struggling. However, without clear communication and healthy boundaries, supporting others can quickly become emotionally draining, leading to overwhelm, resentment, or burnout.

In this workshop, we focus on developing the practical skills needed to support others in a sustainable way. Through discussion and reflection, this session explores how to communicate more clearly, navigate uncomfortable conversations, set boundaries without guilt, and protect your energy at work and beyond. The aim is to help participants support others with confidence and compassion, without sacrificing their own wellbeing.

Session outcomes
1) Understand what healthy support looks like and how to avoid taking on emotional responsibility that isn’t yours to carry.
2) Develop practical communication skills for navigating difficult or uncomfortable conversations with greater clarity and confidence.
3) Build a toolkit of boundary-setting strategies to protect your energy, prevent burnout, and support others in a balanced, sustainable way.
