This session will introduce the key skills and considerations in supporting the career development of others. The session will provide an introduction to career development, help you facilitate effective career development conversations and explain the opportunities within the university for professional development.

 

This session is designed for any member of staff who has responsibility for supporting the professional development of staff across any job family and at any level.

 

Learning Outcomes:

• Reflect on your understanding of career development and the importance of career development for your team

• Identify and apply skills and techniques that underpin effective career conversations

• Identify career development opportunities and resources within the university to support the career development of others

 

Please note this session will cover broad themes that will cover core principles, techniques and advice that are universally relevant to help you support the career development of your team. Therefore, this will not cover specific advice for individual job roles/pathways."
