This course will cover the importance and power of listening to understand rather than listening to reply. Listening is one of the key coaching and communication skills, it enables you to truly understand others' views and perspectives. Having the ability to really listen will enable you to build trust with others and improve your relationships.
This workshop relates to the: “Communication” and “Leading others: Promotes wellbeing and inclusion” competencies outlined in the Competency Framework.
Please note that a similar workshop was delivered in 2024/25 under the title “The Power of Listening (listening to understand)”.

Please be aware that this workshop is a discussion-based session with pair and group exercises. You do not have to share anything you are not comfortable with but bear in mind you will be asked to reflect on your own experiences.
