Microsoft Word Module 3: Create and insert a Table of Figures, Equations and/or Tables
Duration 2 Hours
Team Professional Development

In this course, you will learn how to create an automated list, sorted by page numbers, of the captions pulled from figures, charts, equations, tables, or images in your document. It’s like a table of contents but it's a table of anything to which you can add a caption. If you don’t know how to work with images and tables don't worry, we’ll be covering this too.

Learning outcomes:

  • Create and modify tables e.g. split/merge cells, autofit column, convert text to tables, repeat header rows, etc
  • Inserting images correctly - alignment, positioning, cropping, and why not to use text wrapping!
  • Add captions to your figures, charts, equations, tables or images and automatically number them
  • Create a Table of Figures, Equations or Tables
  • Insert and delete cross-references - a note in the document which tells you that there is relevant or more detailed information in another part of the document

Pre-Requisites:

Delegates are required to have Microsoft Word 2016 or above installed on their computer.  The features and techniques used in the course cannot be completed in the online Office365 version of Microsoft Word.

Process:

This course will be delivered entirely online via Teams with course Leader input, demonstrations, and hands-on practical sessions.  If you don't already have Teams installed then please see https://teams.microsoft.com/uswe-01/downloads for more information.
