Microsoft Word Module 1: How to create and manage a Table of Contents using styles

In this course, you will learn how to produce a standardised structure to generate a consistently formatted document. By utilising these principles, you will then be able to create a Table of Contents displaying your headings (e.g. chapter headings).

Learning outcomes:

  • Use a range of font and paragraph formatting techniques to develop the document structure using styles
  • Define and modify numbered and bulleted lists
  • Apply automatic numbering to headings using multi-level lists
  • Work with the navigation pane to efficiently browse and reorganise a long document
  • Insert and customise a Table of Contents using heading styles
  • Update a Table of Contents

Pre-Requisites:

Delegates are required to have Microsoft Word 2016 or above installed on their computer.  The features and techniques used in the course cannot be completed in the online Office365 version of Microsoft Word.
