Who should complete this training?

This eLearning module is intended for members of staff only.

It is highly recommended that both appraisers and appraisees complete this eLearning module prior to having their annual Appraisal and Development Conversation (ADC).

Learning outcomes

To understand:

• The purpose of the Appraisal and Development Conversation (ADC)
• How the ADC approach is aligned to the University’s Strategic Framework.
• The ADC approach.
• How best to prepare for an annual ADC.
• The three main components of the annual ADC - Reflection, Looking Forward and Future Objectives.
• Where to find other useful learning resources relevant to ADCs

Following completion of the ADC eLearning module participants will;

Understand how the ADC is an effective approach in facilitating a high performance culture here at the University of Nottingham where all staff feel supported, have clarity over their goals and responsibilities and are provided with an opportunity to reflect on achievements and areas of development.

Understand the priorities of the University, and their Faculty/School or Professional Service Department, and how their achievements and objectives contribute to achieving these.

Understand the importance of, and confidence in having good quality conversations with staff throughout the year and how preparation is an important stage in ensuring the success of an effective ADC.
