Overview

This course provides an overview of the key elements of corporate manslaughter that all staff need to be aware of.  It explores the relevance of the offense to the university and the potential consequences for both individuals and the university.   

Learning outcomes 

• Be able to define what is meant by corporate manslaughter 

• Be able to distinguish between organisational and individual accountability in corporate manslaughter cases 

• Be able to identify key determinants of corporate manslaughter 

• Understand the concepts of duty of care and breach of duty 

• Explore strategies to manage and mitigate the risks associated with corporate manslaughter 

Who should complete this training 

This course forms part of the suite of compliance e-learning modules that all staff (plus Associates and Postgraduate Researchers – PGR's) are required to complete within 3 months of joining the University.

If you are a staff member you should access this learning through your learning account in Unicore. If you are an Associate, PGR or are required to complete this learning as part of your role and do not have a Unicore learning account you should access this training by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page and click book.
