About the course:
To better facilitate improvements in dealing with reporting racial incidents Marshall’s has developed a Reporting a Racial Incident course to support staff with handling racial incident reporting by students. This course provides definitions of what constitutes a racial incident including the more serious offence of a hate crime. It will equip staff to confidently handle reporting by students or witnesses to a racial incident in a supportive and professional way.

Pre-Requisites

How can you report instances of harassment, bullying, hate incidents, or hate crime?

  • You can find out more about harassment, bullying, and victimisation and make a report directly to the University of Nottingham here.​
  • The University of Nottingham has a network of Dignity Advisers who are available to provide impartial and confidential advice to support staff and students who have issues/concerns regarding harassment, bullying or victimisation. Find out more from here.
  • Students can contact the University of Nottingham Students' Union's Advice team here- the SU Advice Centre is a recognized Hate Crime reporting centre​.
  • Students can use the 'MyNottingham' app – the Wellbeing tile also has information on inappropriate behaviour​.
  • You can also report hate crime and online hate materials to the police here. ​
