Immigration Compliance: Student Visa Essentials (Taught students)

Description:

This interactive module will enable you to develop your understanding of the university’s duties as a student immigration sponsor. Using a practical approach based on common scenarios, you will learn how we collectively support immigration compliance at the university, by following agreed processes and applying good practice. This module focuses on taught student scenarios (undergraduate and postgraduate)

If you also work with PGR students, you may also wish to complete the following module: Immigration Compliance: Student Visa Essentials (PGR students).

Learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the university’s legal responsibilities as an immigration sponsor.
  • Identify your role in supporting the student immigration compliance agenda.
  • Identify and apply good practice in supporting student immigration compliance.
  • Finally, we will introduce sources of information and support for your compliance-related queries.

Who is this training for:
Academic staff working with taught students (Undergraduate and Postgraduate).

Course Duration:
Approximately 45 minutes – progress will be recorded so the module can be completed over multiple sessions.

Frequency:
This training is required only once; however, participants are encouraged to revisit as needed to refresh their understanding.

Pass Mark: To complete this course you must answer all the questions correctly.  The score you achieve will not be shown on your training record - it will be displayed as "Complete" in the Status column
