Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:
Decide when to use lectures as a delivery method; Explore links between learning theory and lecturing practice; Prepare and organise lecture content; Experiment with and evaluate a range of active learning approaches intended to encourage student learning in the lecture; Consider how to deal with a number of common concerns and worries e.g. responding to disruptive student behaviour and controlling nerves.
Process: Interactive and dynamic workshop with individual/group activities and taught inputs.
